Salam to all,

Yes, it has been ages since the last time I published any post. Too busy? No idea worth putting forward? All the reasons you could think of....

The truth is, I am involved in a project. A project that has been a childhood dream. Not just mine, but my sisters' as well.

In this post, I would like to thank all friends and family for all the support that they have given. With that note, I would like to announce and invite everyone to the first outlet of Bayudelights Bakery & Cafe. It is located at 40, Jalan Temenggong, Pusat Bandar, 34200 Parit Buntar. A simple cafe serving a few local and western dishes and not forgetting our usual bakes and cakes. The concept of the cafe is fast and simple food. Our current menu is limited but insyaAllah, we will try our best to offer more.

With the opening of this outlet, new prices for our cakes and bakes are effective from 1st January 2012. Please visit our website, bayudelights.com for latest updates and online ordering.

We welcome feedback of all kinds. Thank you.

in pain

Feel a bit down coz I have to slow down with my baking. My arm hurts in a way difficult to explain. An appointment has been arranged with the orthopedic. But it is for the 5th of May. So long to wait.

Here are some photos of bakes and cakes.
This is Chocolate Banana Squares. So delicious. This recipe from KG's blog is a keeper.
Baked this for Kak Laili's makan-makan. It was Devil's Food Chocolate Cake. Glad she like it.
Our family's favourite, Makaroni Bakar and Lasagne.

Also this, Moist Chocolate Cake with cream cheese and chocolate ganache topping.
Birthday cake for Hanif. Again, it was Devil's Food Chocolate Cake. I wanted to use up the buttermilk before it expires.
Birthday cake for Nurul. So comot!
Orange buttercake with buttercream. Birthday cake for Ayuni.

First attempts of the Congo Bars and Marble Cheese Brownie. The Congo Bars was not a hit but the Marble Cheese Brownie is yummy.
Chilled Oreo Cheesecake. My kids enjoy it. Recipe is from Kak Nony from cravingcakes. This recipe is another keeper.
Rich Moist Chocolate Cake. Recipe from Rima. So sedap! Definitely will make this often.

First time for everything

My first attempt at making fondant....
It was a bit hard and brittle. Not as pliable as the bought ones and too sweet as well. I will reduce the sugar next time. Sorry I can't put up the recipe here, it was from Lea Oven. We bought the DVDs on fondant making and fondant figurines. There will be many more attempts to come...
Alya's first attempt at making the teddies. Not bad at all.

First cupcakes with edible image. Upin & Ipin. The kids' choice. Qistina ate most of these. She would lick the buttercream only leaving the cake for Umar to finish.

These cupcakes were for Tasnim. Qaisarah's buddy.
I have shaky hands and never good in art. The cupcakes weren't very neatly done. I could have done better :(. I would have baked another batch or redecorated if I had the time. Anyway, I am glad to have made the cakes for Tasnim.

Once in a while, I buy fresh flowers from the market. Last Saturday I bought 2 stalks of lilies. It cost RM16. The kids don't like the smell but I somehow feel calm sniffing the fresh smell of the lilies. And the way the flower terlentok, masyaAllah...

Cakes or bakes anyone?

We are ready to tell the world that we are taking orders. 'We' means my sister and I. Please also visit cakesandcookies4u.blogspot.com.

We have been taking orders but not at this level. I guess now there's no turning back. So there you are. We hope to get the support from friends and families.

Here's some photos of some bakes and cakes.

Adik-adik celebrating someone's birthday and Carrot cake for Amalina's mum.

This Carrot Cake was for Kak Umi. It went all the way to KL. Cupcakes were Kak Gee's. Thank you kakaks.

These two sets were for friends at USM. Saja bagi rasa... he he...

And these were for our own indulgence.
Chilled Strawberry Cheesecake.

The classic Victoria Sandwich topped with ganache.
The table laid for a makan-makan earlier this month.
Mini Shephard's Pie.
My countless attempt with meat pie. This version was with mashed potato.

Birthdays in February.

Qaisarah started going to Tadika this year. She is 5 years old. For her birthday, she requested a red heart-shaped cake with a smiling face on it :). I made moist chocolate chiffon cake which recipe was from myresipi.com. Alya had fun covering the cake with red colored buttercream and made the smiling face on the cake. That was using chocolate ganache.

Qistina is 3. I made her the Red Velvet Cake. Honestly, I made the wrong cake. Not because it was not good but because it had buttermilk and cheese topping. I had wanted to try the recipe from KG so bad that I did not think straight. Qistina was ecstasy with her cake but too bad, she couldn't eat as much as she wanted to...

Here are photos of some bakes and cakes in February.
Moist Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese and Chocolate Ganache Topping for Kak Zaida's birthday. The topping was a bit over the top. I will try to reduce the sweetness next time.
The simple Victoria Sandwich with Ganache and cream puff for Kak Umi's birthday.
Thank you Amalina for this order. It was the Moist Chocolate Cake covered with Ganache...

This was for one of Alya's good friend, Suhaila. I am glad they had a fabulous time.

Thank you Alya!

Dearest Alya. I am so thankful to you. You have made me very happy. Your brownies made my day.

That was my feeling yesterday. And the feeling is still there....

Alya made 2 batches of brownies although she was not feeling well; just because I asked her to do so.

Well, I didn't know she was going to be unwell. She was so unwell that she didn't go to her first tuition class, which she has been looking forward to. She was OK when I left for work after lunch!

By her baking the brownies, it proved to me a few things about her. Things that I am so pleased with. I am not mentioning them here. They are for me to know and keep to myself.

Love you, Alya!

Cupcakes fun day!

We had wanted to do this for ages. We did it at last. Just look at what Alya and Umairah had done with the cupcakes. I baked 2 batches of cupcakes. Some went to the cafe. We decorated the rest.
Umairah's

I just had to join the fun!
